Covid-19 - Surgery doors are open only for booked appointments and collections.

Please see further information section for more details

Welcome to our website. Find out when we are open and how to see a member of the team. We’ve made life a little easier with practice updates, news on the latest health issues and even access to repeat medication all at your fingertips.

Coming to the Surgery

The surgery is currently only open to patients for the following:

* Prearranged appointments with the Doctor or Nurse.

* To leave in a sample requested by the Doctor or Nurse.

* To collect sample bottles, medical records or letters as arranged with Administration Staff.

Please phone the practice about all queries rather than coming in to the front desk.  We will be unable to answer queries at the front desk as it disrupts the safe and socially distanced flow of patients who are attending for prearranged appointments.

Due to the volume of calls being received by the practice, we can no longer take requests for repeat prescriptions over the phone.  Exceptions to this are for children, carers or family ordering on behalf of another patient and patients who have no access to online services.

New medications may be requested over the phone.

Please contact reception on 02890812211 to register for online services or request a new access PIN.

After many years of service to the Surgery, Dr Sharkey is retiring on 30th April. He will be greatly missed and we take this opportunity to wish him a long and happy retirement.

Flu Vaccinations and Covid-19 Booster Jabs Autumn 2021

We will be in contact with all eligible patients when we are in a position to offer these vaccines.  Please do not telephone reception to enquire.

This year we will be offering an online booking platform for patients and we would encourage as many patients as possible to use this service in order to reserve telephone capacity for clinical matters.

You will receive all the information necessary to access this platform in due course.  An alternative booking method will be available for those without internet access.

Vaccination Programme Autumn 2021

This year the scale of the vaccination programme is unprecedented and exceeds capacity at the surgery.  Therefore we have decided to run an off-site vaccination programme at Carryduff Baptist Church commencing on 18th October.

The vaccination centre will operate on an APPOINTMENT ONLY basis.  Patients should not attempt to make an appointment until they receive their invitation.  All eligible patients will receive an invitation in due course.  Appointments should be made within two working days of receiving your invitation to book. We aim to administer the majority of our vaccines at the centre but some cohorts may be contacted at a later date to receive their vaccines at the practice.  Please do not contact reception to enquire.

Thank you for your patience and support.

Contact Detail Validation

We are currently updating our patient contact details database to enable us to contact patients via SMS and email.  This will enable us to update patients regarding relevant clinic details and practice information more efficiently. You may be contacted by a member of staff to confirm your contact details.

If you have changed your mobile number or would like to add an email address to your records, please contact the surgery on 02890812211.

Face Coverings

We are aware that some patients might be understandably anxious about the government's recent announcements around the use of face masks/coverings in various public settings.  In line with national guidance we are unable to provide individual risk assessments or letters for patients who feel that they should be exempt from wearing a face mask or covering.  This extends to any patient who does not fall under the list of exemptions but considers them to have another reason to be exempted.

The government guidance on exemptions suggests there is no requirement for evidence for exemption, therefore it is sufficient for an individual to self-declare this.

Please see updated guidance regarding wearing of face masks in healthcare settings
